What:
On Friday after Māori we go to the class we went to for Māori.

So What:
This week will be our 3rd Drama class last week we did miming with Mrs Hall, we had to mime out a story or movie

What the year 6's did when the year 5's were on camp

When the year 5's were on camp we did lots of things with Mrs Casey like painting, art, cross words, word finds and much more!    

Some of my favourite things were painting, building the temple of heaven and super hero activities. 

I had a great time😀!

What?This week was Literacy week.

We did many things such as Stop,drop and write, Stop,drop and read, Soraya Nicholas came ,Scavenger hunt and much more!

I enjoyed looking for a golden ticket and scavenger hunt.

What?

I am learning to understand how words are formed using roots, prefixes and suffixes.

So What?

I have learned that words that have the root hydra- and aqua- mean water. For example …….

I have learned that words that have the root spect- mean look / see. For example …

hydrate = to add water or moisture to something to supply something with water.

Now what?

I feel that I have a really good understanding of the root words aqua-, hydra-, and spect-

I shared my learning at my SLC

So what?

I think I went well with my student led conference.

My writing goal was to use paragraphs.

I gave my self a 8.5 /10.

I was proud of my vocabulary sheet because I know some of the expressions.

Now What?

I want to learn more vocab.

I want to improve my division.

                                                        

Writing Goals Update

This week I am reflecting on one of my writing goals

IALT: Improve my writing by learning how to:

* use a variety of sentence starters

This week I have been focusing on how to write a drop-in clause

SO WHAT?

Here is an example of a drop-in clause

Mr Forman is our teacher.	He loves his red car.
Mr Forman, who is our teacher, loves his red car.

Mr Forman is the subject of the sentence.

We change ‘He’ to ‘who’

We place commas around the clause we ‘drop-in’

MY EXAMPLES:

Here are two examples of a drop-in clause that I have created.

[1]The dinosaur,who was wearing a nappy,was chasing the boy.

[2]The Action Hero,who was wearing a flowery headband,stormed through the jungle

NOW WHAT?

My writing Goals for term 2

To help me with this goal I am using a 'Sentence Starter Menu'

It will help my writing to be more interesting and to hook the reader in more.

Healthy Harold Visit

What?

For the last 2 weeks we have been to the Harold van twice.Our big question is, What does our body need to stay healthy and happy?

So What?

We learned a song to do with what food we need and how much of it.We also learned that there are different names for sugar,salt and fat.

Now What?

Now I know that there could be three different types of sugar or salt in my food.

Year 6 Camp

What?

Two weeks ago the year 6's went away on camp to Waipara.

So What?

At camp we did lots of activitys like canoeing,Team Building and Shelter Building.My favourite thing was canoeing because the water was nice and warm.I did Absailing with Summer when we went down the wall she made me laugh so much my hips and ribs hurt.After I wanted to do it again!!!


Now What?
The skills I learned on camp are really going to help me during the year :-)
